In our current society, is it now possible to take lessons online, for affordable prices, and from the comfort of our home.
I have been teaching violin online for over two years now, to beginner and intermediate students of all ages, from all parts of the world, seeing great progress, results and satisfactions from all of them. What material do I need to start the classes?
All you need to start is a violin (including a bow, a shoulder rest and a rosin) as well as a laptop or a tablet, and a strong internet connexion.
Is it possible to learn to play the violin online without any prior musical experience?
Yes of course! My courses and material are suitable for complete beginners.
Can I choose the music we play?
Of course! We can practice any kind of music, with or without sheet music.
Can I take online violin lessons if I can't read music?
Yes, it is completely fine, I have courses to learn how to read music if it is something you would like to learn. However, it is not mendatory, especially if you’d be interested to play traditionnal music, like Irish fiddle. In this case, you can also learn the tunes by ear, if you do not wish to learn how to read music.
Do I need any special software or equipment to take online violin lessons?
You will need a laptop and a good internet connexion. The lessons can be done through zoom or skype.
Do you teach kids?
Yes, I do teach kids, however, I will only propose 25 minute lessons for kids under 13 years old, and do not accept online lessons with kids under 8 years old.
How often should I schedule online violin lessons to make progress?
I always advise one 50 minute lesson a week for upper-beginner to intermediate students, and one to two 25 minute lessons a week for beginner violinist and children.
